Why I built Hay

I built Hay to help my wife manage her daily training schedule, lessons, horse care, client communication, and all the small things that pile up in a busy program.

She’s been a professional horse trainer for over 10 years, and I’ve seen firsthand how much coordination it takes to keep a barn running smoothly.

Hay started as a way to make her life easier. I hope it helps you too.

A Pro user creates a clinic, sets ride fees and deposit amounts, and enrolls participants — even people who don't have a Hay account yet. Invoices are generated automatically. Waitlists kick in when a clinic is full. Clinicians get their own workspace for notes, assessments, and intake responses.

Yes. Pro users connect their own Stripe account and clients pay invoices directly — Hay doesn't take a cut. Clinic deposits and fees flow through the same system.

You can add people by name and email. They'll receive an invite to sign up, and once they do their clinic enrollments, invoices, and records are automatically linked to their new account.

One account works across multiple barns. Staff, students, and owners can be invited to different barns using pro codes, and you switch between them from the dashboard.

Yes — Hay is designed mobile-first so it works in the aisle, at the arena, or wherever your day takes you.
